For animals. For nature. For Iraq.
Our StoryWild Iraq is an NGO dedicated to protecting animals, conserving wildlife, and safeguarding Iraq’s natural environment. Our work spans animal welfare, wildlife conservation, environmental projects, and advocacy for the country’s first comprehensive animal protection law. By combining on-the-ground action with policy reform and public awareness, we strive to build a kinder, more sustainable future for all living things.
What We Do
Wildlife Conservation
We work to rescue and protect wild and endangered animals, supporting their transfer from captivity into safe sanctuary environments whenever possible.
Animal Welfare
We support animal welfare initiatives in Baghdad, including feeding programs for street animals, aimed at reducing suffering and improving day-to-day survival.
Education
We engage communities through education and outreach focused on animal welfare, responsible care, and coexistence with wildlife.
Environmental Protection
We organize community-based environmental clean-up initiatives that promote healthier neighborhoods, and respect for shared natural spaces.
Future Initiatives
As Wild Iraq grows, we aim to expand our impact through long-term initiatives, including:
Advocating for the passage of Iraq’s first comprehensive animal protection legislation
Developing pathways to rehome street animals internationally, where feasible and ethical
Expanding community environmental clean-up programs across additional cities
Increasing wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation efforts nationwide
IMPORTANT NOTICE
At this time, Wild Iraq is unable to rescue street animals, provide placement services, or fund individual medical cases. Our capacity is limited, and we ask for understanding as we continue to build sustainable programs.
